Howard K. Alperin is a partner with over 25 years of litigation and trial experience in state, federal, and bankruptcy courts. Mr. Alperin also has extensive transactional experience, giving him the unique ability to handle all facets of his clients’ ongoing litigation and transactional needs.
Mr. Alperin’s litigation practice includes the representation of individuals and corporations in complex business, entertainment, and intellectual property litigation matters, including those relating to unfair competition, false and deceptive trade practices, media torts (including misappropriation of name and likeness, defamation, and invasion of privacy), SLAPP litigation, class action litigation, and a broad range of other corporate and commercial litigation matters. Mr. Alperin has represented defendants (and has counseled numerous others) in connection with litigation involving the Securities and Exchange Commission, Federal Trade Commission, and Department of Corporations in securities/business fraud cases. Additionally, Mr. Alperin has handled federal and state court appeals relating to these matters.
Mr. Alperin’s transactional practice focuses on the representation of talent agencies, entertainment production companies, recording artists, as well as information technology, advertising, marketing, and promotion companies. He handles a variety of business matters for his clients, such as the preparation and negotiation of various agreements including employment agreements. Mr. Alperin also advises and counsels clients in connection with their acquisition and sale of businesses.
