Ralph C. Hofer

Ralph C. Hofer is a partner and specializes in complex business litigation. He represents clients in a wide variety of matters including contracts, business torts, antitrust, class actions and attorney and accountant professional negligence.

Before joining Blecher & Collins Mr. Hofer was a federal prosecutor in Los Angeles. As an Assistant U.S. Attorney, he was appointed to the Presidential Task Force on Narcotics Enforcement from 1983 to 1986. Mr. Hofer has authored numerous articles for various legal publications.

Professional experience includes:

  • Representing a corporation in a breach of fiduciary duty action against former corporate officers and directors which resulted in a significant monetary settlement for the corporation and its shareholders.
  • Representing a corporation in legal and accounting malpractice actions against their former law firm and auditors which resulted in substantial prefiling settlements against both professional firms.
  • Representing the CEO of an oil exploration company in a malicious prosecution action against an oil company resulting in a $600,000 jury award and punitive damages of $11 million.
  • Representing an investment company against a big three accounting firm for professional negligence and breach of fiduciary duty.
  • Representing a construction company in a contract dispute with a general contractor resulting in a substantial monetary settlement.
  • Representing an ambulance company against a hospital in a suit involving antitrust, breach of contract and business tort claims.
